Prof. Thomas Linder is an internationally renowned otologist and lateral skull base surgeon and one of the leading representatives of the Zurich School of Otology, established by Prof. Ugo Fisch.
Prof. Linder has played an important role in the development, refinement, and dissemination of the Fisch School of Otologic and Lateral Skull Base Surgery, particularly in stapes surgery, subtotal petrosectomy, temporal bone surgery, and lateral skull base procedures.
Since 2001, Prof. Linder has led the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at Luzerner Kantonsspital (LUKS) as its Chairman. Under his leadership, the department has become a major referral and training center in Switzerland and Europe for otology, hearing rehabilitation, implantable hearing devices, facial nerve surgery, and lateral skull base surgery.
Education has remained a central part of his career. Through the Fisch International Microsurgery Foundation, he has trained generations of otologists and skull base surgeons from around the world, helping to preserve and advance the principles and surgical techniques of the Fisch School.
For more than three decades, Prof. Linder has contributed to the internationally renowned temporal bone and lateral skull base dissection courses in Zurich, initially alongside Prof. Ugo Fisch and later in a leading role. He continues to direct the advanced temporal bone and lateral skull base courses.
Prof. Linder has authored and contributed to numerous scientific publications, textbooks, and book chapters in otology, hearing rehabilitation, facial nerve surgery, and lateral skull base surgery.
Throughout his career, his dedication to meticulous surgical technique and structured surgical education has helped carry forward the legacy of the Zurich School of Otology to new generations of surgeons worldwide.

Must be at least a specialist or chief resident in the field.

To study the anatomical relationships between the internal carotid artery (ICA), facial nerve, cochlea, internal auditory canal (IAC), and labyrinth through relevant surgical approaches, and to learn the key steps of the fundamental lateral skull base approaches.
Two Hands-On Participants will share one cadaver head.
